4 jaw independent chuck with the included wax tube centering arbor in place. This arbor reduces the time for centering a wax tube and clamping it to a few seconds.
Fourth Axis has developed a 4-jaw chuck system for JWX-10 (or MDX-40 with ZCL-40 rotary) which has unique features. Our chuck system is NOT mounted via a threaded post, because such mounting does not give ideal concentricity, nor permit dismount/remount to exactly the same rotation angle.

Our split mounting system relies on two precision plates - one secured concentric with the JWX-10 (or MDX-40 with ZCL-40 rotary) by three socket head screws, the second carrying the chuck mechanism. They align perfectly concentric, thanks to the one-piece stepped boss. Rotation is repeatable, thanks to rotation stops on the 3 joining screws.
Asymmetric objects, D-tubes, slabs can be accommodated easily.
This independent 4-jaw chuck has reversible jaws, to hold different diameter ranges. They also allow you to grip objects from inside or outside. Examples are illustrated - a wax slab 75 x 50 x 15mm for FlipFlopWax 3-sided ring procedure and a perfectly centered 28mm wax ring tube for simple rotary ring work.
4-jaw chuck can be dismounted from JWX-10 (or MDX-40 with ZCL-40 rotary) and replaced with ideal concentricity and rotation angle.
You can even remove the chuck, still securely holding the workpiece, for inspection or for manual detailing during the machining process. Be confident it can be restored to the precise original position in the mill, for further operations.

Included with this product are:
- 4-jaw scroll chuck with 4 reversible glass-filled polymer jaws for fragile cutter protection
- front and backplate pair with 3 coupling screws and nuts
- 3 socket head M4 screws and 2.5mm hex key for attaching the chuck to JWX-10 (or MDX-40 with ZCL-40 rotary)
- 2mm hex key for chuck jaw closure
- aluminum stepped and tapered centering arbor which prevents crushing of wax tubes
- plastic tapered plug for use off-center, prevents crushing of D-shape signet-ring wax tubes
(vernier calipers shown for scale only are not included)
Loosen three screws to detach the chuck with workpiece still secured. After inspection or detailing, it can be repositioned perfectly before completing the job.
Aluminum centering arbor for wax tubes lets you clamp a ring tube exactly centered, in seconds without any measuring.
